Estimation Method of Relative Slip in Fretting Fatigue Contact by Digital Image Correlation

An experimental method that can quantify relative slip was developed using digital image correlation (DIC) in order to evaluate the sliding portion. The bridge-type test setup designed establish fretting contact condition. displacements between surfaces were determined by DIC methods. Based on evolution and distribution of slip, transitions from gross partial surface found throughout all tests. This result indicated scar closely correlated slip. variation corresponding stick-slip state consistent with tangential force coefficient. Besides, load amplitude an important factor for fatigue damage, which affect state.
